It is not actually Sufism, the accurate term is "Tassawuff and Sulook" and it was practiced and taught by Sahaba and practiced by the Ummah at all times. Tassawuff and Sulook are the practice of self purification by following the Shariah and destrying one's own Nafs.

Ibn Taymiyyah (Rahimahullah) NEVER in his life followed 'Tariqatu Qaadiriyyah' He was a Mujaddid, named Shaykhul Islam and a true follower of Sunnah:)

Ibn Taymiyyah was a deluded lunatic and possibly one of the greatest blows to Muslim civilization ever for this was the same man who institutionalized the literalist paradigm in mainstream Islam.

The Qadiriyya at his time were hardcore literalists (unlike most Sufis who make the Asharis look moderate), him accepting them is nothing more than confirmation bias.

So what? He was a scholar and that is all about him.

Sufism is part of Islam as jihadist school and they are

not mutually exclusive. We learn when we have time

otherwise we do jihad when need arises. No Muslim

can only be a soofi or only a jihadist.
