If you are in favour of SOPA/PIPA bills passing US congress then I assume you have actually read the two bills and fully understand the impact these bills if passed into acts will have on peoples future freedom to use the internet. If you have actually read the bills as I have then I will appreciate to know why you support these two bills because:

These bills are delusional (wolf in sheep's clothing) - that is to say they are 'sold' to the people on the pretence to restrict/stop internet copyright piracy but in reality they are a feint on piracy, that is to say they are not specifically compiled to address/resolve internet piracy but are far more reaching empowering 'establishment'(congress/senate lobbyists)/politicans vehicles to 'control' the free speech environment of the internet - this is the real agenda!!!. Surely if you watch/listen to TV/Radio or read the Press, you must realise that they are subject to degrees of bias/slant/control on how they report/present information and are not truly vehicles of 'Free Speech'. If one controls free speech then one controls peoples knowledge, opinions and consequently beliefs. So if you want to lose the only media that has some degree of freedom for us all then go ahead and support these tyrannical bills.

I await your reply and your wisdom of the 'benefit' that these bills will provide to the internet users in the US and world wide.

  • I completely disagree, as well. If it is passed... So many things that have great uses could and would be taken down. I'm not just refering to YouTube and Facebook, but countless sites would share that fate. Wikipedia being one of them. As it said on the Wikipedia blackout section:

"SOPA and PIPA would put the burden on website owners to police user-contributed material and call for the unnecessary blocking of entire sites. Small sites won't have sufficient resources to defend themselves. Big media companies may seek to cut off funding sources for their foreign competitors, even if copyright isn't being infringed. Foreign sites will be blacklisted, which means they won't show up in major search engines. SOPA and PIPA would build a framework for future restrictions and suppression.

In a world in which politicians regulate the Internet based on the influence of big money, Wikipedia — and sites like it — cannot survive.

Congress says it's trying to protect the rights of copyright owners, but the "cure" that SOPA and PIPA represent is worse than the disease. SOPA and PIPA are not the answer: they would fatally damage the free and open Internet. "

PIPA & SOPA goes against the constitution in many ways thats all I have to say...unless the constitution is just another piece of paper to congress I hope they realize it or obama vetos the bill.
