best place to move ? warmer climate?
We live in philadelphia PA and it is a shithole. Its cold almost all year round and we recently acquired some money and can afford to move to a warmer climate. Any warm, safe, cheap, places to look into? thanks!

We just bought a condo in the Cayman Islands, partly due to the Climate Change problem. In spite of it being a "rich man's paradise," property is surprisingly - even shockingly - affordable.
Why an island? Why risk sea level rise? First, the sea level rise will not really affect us in our lifetimes (we're approaching retirement). Second, the tropics will be least affected by global warming, due to something called Hadley Cell Circulation, which carries warm air from the tropics northward. Precipitation will actually be lower in this area as well.
We're also looking to get out of the USA, before "The Great Collapse." If a Republican becomes President, that collapse will happen shortly. Re-electing Obama will only stave it off for a little while longer, but it is inevitable.
And the sunsets....oh, the sunsets....
Good luck!

we've not moved and maximum in all probability gained't. We may bypass for a month or so even as i'm totally retired (artwork 2 a million/2 days nevertheless). We workout almost on a daily basis in the storage on a treadmill and we bypass out very almost on a daily basis for a briefcontinual and a walk round Menards basically to get out. The grandkids stay about an hour away and that i favor to stay close to to them even as i can! for sure, we've a prediction of 12-14" of snow this week so i'd favor i replaced into down south someplace!

I wouldn't recommend the American South West as they are already having problems with water. Rationing now a days. This area was mostly desert before it was irrigated to make it livable (supposedly) unfortunately, it will probably be mostly desert again by mid century.
With the advent of climate change look for something with a mean temp of maybe 65 degrees Not too hot and not too cold. British Columbia is like that but fair amount of rain.

BC isn't exactly cheap or that warm. I'm not sure what the housing prices are in Nevada now but one of my professors bought a vacation house there and he loves it (he plays a lot of golf).
