Is film too commercialized?
I love film. I breathe Hitchcock, Melies, and the numerous great filmmakers past and present. The point is, I respect the art form, and I have tried to perfect my own craft since. Yet, I don't post blogs about films I've seen, or keep up on the latest movie news. What I'm getting at is, I live for cinema, but I don't care to get entangled in all the crap that every so called movie fan involves themselves in? Am I a true film buff for spending more time on my short films than twittering about them to my friends.

The problem with movie fans, even though I am one, is that they place so much emphasis on things that do not matter, i.e imdb ranking and scores, Oscars, critics, how influential they are- even though those do have a level of importance, but they do interfere on enjoyment of movies. If there is one thing that irks me, is when people feel the need to label any okay film that they enjoyed as a 'guilty pleasure'. Urgh i hate that term. The whole entire blogging thing means that if I watch a movie, I can read up someones interpretation about it online, without thinking about it for myself. But blogging does have benefits- it can spread little or lesser known movies around.I think you are still a fan of movies, you just have it in your own way, and that's fine. Anyway, 60% of film fans I've had an encounter with turn out to be snobs, so yeah.

Everything is also commercialized to death, its just known so they can get tons of people to see the movie even if it sucks or is the best.
