I'm pretty liberal, but when I watched Ron Paul in the debate tonight, all I could think was that guy is...?
Awesome. Is this a common reaction among liberals? I'm like very liberal BTW.

I feel the same way, I think it is because he is who he is and does not pretend to be something his is not. The others are all so busy ducking and dodging their past.

Ron Paul's refreshing honesty is a wonderful thing for American politics. Too many politicians are less forthcoming, and I hope they learn from Dr. Paul's example. But when a politician tells us frankly that he's a bigot, that he's inconsistent on the issues (his stance on abortion is not a libertarian position), and that he's against all gun control, most real liberals would prefer Ron Paul was not so truthful.

Well that is not something uncommon in fact it shouldn't be surprising at all because Ron Paul is pretty much a libertarian which means that he has opinions that are more central if not liberal and so he is not a conservative on many of his opinions. That is why you would like him because many of his ideas align with your party.

Ron Paul only looks awesome because the rest of the field (including Obama) is so lame.
The reality of Ron Paul politics, however, is that they are the politics of a nation under the thumb of an imperialist power. Ron Paul politics are the politics of Haiti. The U.S., on the other hand is the world's premier imperialist power. Under the current circumstances of global capitalism, the U.S. gangster-capitalist elite would never allow a Ron Paul presidency. It ain't gonna happen. Don't look for it.

He speaks well, he makes sense, and he has a good message.
However, if you're very Liberal, I don't see how you could agree with his ideology. He wants to cut many federal departments, remove regulations (including environmental), repeal The Civil Rights Act of 1964, go back to the gold standard, etc.
I think he's a good man, but I will never agree with his domestic policy.

No Pedro, you're not a liberal. You are confused. You might just be a libertarian...at the opposite end of the political spectrum from the progressives.

Most liberals agree with Paul on foreign policy issues. It's domestic issues where most of us take issue.
