Will installing a Microsoft Office 2010 Trial override Microsoft Office 2010 Starter?
I have Starter pre-installed in my laptop. It only has Word and Excel and I really need Powerpoint for a presentation, so I was just curious if installing the Office Trial would override the Starter. Starter doesn't have an expiration date so but I'm afraid of losing it for Office Trial that only lasts 60 days.
I would usually use OpenOffice for simple presentations, but I'd like to use the effects in Powerpoint 2010 for this one.
Before I install it, I'd like to know. Thank you!

First, I am unfamiliar with Starter Edition so I will rely on my experience with regular versions of Office.
I have 2 versions of Office on my desktop (2003 and 2007). Partitioning is not necessary. When you go to install the trial version, it should ask if you want to either overwrite or replace the Starter Edition or if you want to keep it. If it does not make this offer, assume it is going to replace one with the other and cancel the installation.

Why not use the alternative, free and PERMANENT solution to the MS Office trial.
Use the online version of - Office Web Apps 2010.
This has PowerPoint, Word, OneNote & Excel.
You WILL need a Hotmail or Windows Live Account to use this service.
Sign up if you don't have one.
You can then access OWA from any computer, anytime, anywhere!!

It would overwrite the first one as it has a different registration number in your computers registry. If you have your hard drive partitioned you could load it on a different drive name and keep both.
If you already have office 2010 it came with all the office programs when you purchased it, why not just load powerpoint off of the disk?
