98 jeep grand cherokee radio powers up, but no sound?

Just got this jeep, and the radio powers up but no sound comes out. I tried the radio, the CD player, and the cassette player but nothing is working. I checked the fuse box and the fuse is fine, any suggestions on what's wrong. All OEM parts by the way...

Update:

The radio fuse is the first fuse on the top left right? That's the only fuse I checked, I don't have to owners manual.

Update 2:

I pulled the deck out and checked it, but where is the factory amp located and how would I check that and its fuse?

most jeep cherokees had a factory amplifier. the amplifier could be bad or if your lucky the fuse is blown.

I am actually experiencing the same issue. I just purchased a 98 jeep Cherokee Laredo and everything seems to work great but no sound coming from the radio. It has speakers. I tried another radio that works in my other jeep with the same result. I post back if i find the answer. I hope there is an easy answer other the electrical issues.

May seem dumb, but have you checked to see if the speakers are hooked up to the radio? if they are, the connector on the back of the radio may be messed up (unlikely since you tried 3 different ones) or wiring to the speakers may be damaged, or connections to the speakers may be loose or damaged, or the speakers themselves may be damaged. And if the radio powers up, its not a fuse. Hope this helps

    EDIT

If you do have an amp, then the fuse to it may be blown. The fuse may be an in-line fuse (connected within the wiring, not the fuse box) .
