Companies with Accounting Irregularities?

What publicly traded companies (U.S. only) have been reported to have accounting irregularities within the past 3 years? If possible, please include links to articles where I can read about them. They do have to have occurred within the past 3 years ago. Thank you so much! I appreciate it!

You need to be a bit more specific about what type of irregularity that you are discussing. Almost all large, public companies will have some type of irregularity, such as taking a controversial position, use of atypical accounting procedures, among other things.

You are also looking in the wrong place for reported accounting irregularities. This will generally not be "reported" in the press, but is reported on the company's financial statements.

You can research such thing on the SEC's website through their EDGAR database search engine. You will need to be a bit more specific in your search, as companies do not report having a generic "accounting irregularity", but detail the specific irregularity - such as historic stock option grant practices. Additionally, you can look for a restatement of a company's financial report, which would indicate a substantial irregularity which caused the company to correct their financials.
