1040EZ if I am a dependant?

I want to file my taxes early this year. I have worked at one job with no deductions. I figured I could use a 1040EZ form, but my dad will probably claim me as a dependant.

Could I still use the 1040EZ?

Yes you can still use the 1040EZ. You will just mark the box on line 5 that says you were claimed as a dependent and fill out the worksheet on the back. If you are filing by computer there will be a question asking if you were claimed as a dependent. And if you efile with a competent preparer, he or she will ask you if you were claimed.

Being claimed as a dependent doesn't keep you from using a 1040EZ, You just have to be sure you note that you can be claimed as a dependent.

with no deductions? that sounds like you got paid as an independent contractor and will not be receiving a W-2

if you got $600 or more they should be sending you a 1099 and you would report any and all that income on Sch C, and that cannot be filed on a 1040EZ
