  • Facebook: How do I view a friend's comment on a third party photo?

If I am scrolling on the facebook wall, sometimes I see "(Your friend) commented on (Random Page)'s photo" and shows the photo.

However, it does not show the comment, and sometimes there are thousands of comments left by other people... How can I see my friend's comment without sifting through thousands of other comments?

    Thanks

  • 1040EZ if I am a dependant?

I want to file my taxes early this year. I have worked at one job with no deductions. I figured I could use a 1040EZ form, but my dad will probably claim me as a dependant.

Could I still use the 1040EZ?

  • Marine Corps Reserve Pay- Can unit do this?

My buddy in my former Marine Corps Reserve unit called me and told me of this situation:

The Marine Corps Reserve recently held their annual ball, and forced the Marines in the unit to go and pay for their tickets, which actually costs more than they would make for a MUTA1 (This sucks, but this is traditional and not what I am bitching about). Now, the unit is saying they are not paying the Marines to attend the ball, which the unit ordered the Marines to go to. The unit says it is an MCO (Marine Corps Order), but I know it is not.

I know this is not legal. I was wondering if someone could provide an MCO. I am looking through MCO P1001R right now, but not finding much. I know it is illegal for a commander to order a Marine Reservist to be somewhere without paying them. Does anyone have any suggestions?

  • Servicemen: Evaluate the following statement on Socialism... (I want to hear your opinions)?

I just was wondering if any service members would comment on the following statement:

"Soldiers that complain about socialism in America are hypocrites. They decry socialism while essentially living in a socialist program that puts food on their plate, a roof over their head, money in the bank, health insurance, highly subsidized schooling, free job training, and advancement opportunity. These socialist programs have made the quality of life and security for soldiers and their families to maintain a higher quality of life than the national average. So for a Soldier to decry socialism while benefiting from it is hypocritical...If you argue that the creation of a military is in the Constitution, you would be arguing that there is a loophole for socialism in the Constitution. The only truly Capitalist thing to do would be hire a standing mercenary Army, but Soldiers would not like that because they would be out of job security that socialism has provided"

  • Newt Gingrich Gaffe (6 months ago)?

Newt Gingrich Gaffe (6 months ago)?

I could have sworn about six months ago, Newt Gingrich made a huge gaffe, where he began spouting Democrat/Obama talking points against the Republican Party.

I am unable to find it on youtube/google.

Does anyone know what I am referring to? Can anyone help (provide a link or something)?

    Thanks

  • What to do with my money?

    A little about me:

I am in my early 20's. I have nearly $20,000 in savings, and have signed a contract to work for a company for the next 16 months. During this time, I will be able to save about $2,000 per month after I pay all my bills.

My car is paid off. I do not own a house. I have some student debt ($73/month until 2015), but I have no other outstanding debt.

    ______________________________________…

Right now, I just take my paychecks, pay my bills (which I strive to keep low), and put the rest into savings, which accrues .5% interest. I was wondering what I should do with the money I have saved, as well as with the money I will make. I want to make more than .5% interest, but with the economy the way it is, I am weary about investments. Also, I have no retirement account in place.

I am currently away from my bank (away at work for the next month), so I cannot really get advice from them. I was hoping to get advice from anyone here with experience in financial management.

  • Who can beat ANY UFC Champion right now?

After watching UFC 135 last night, I got to thinking- who could beat ANY of the current UFC Champions right now? They are dominant at every weight class!

Cain Velasquez is undefeated, and will most likely beat Dos Santos in their next fight.

Jon Jones beat the hell out of Rampage using his reach and ground game. I can't think of a Light Heavyweight that has the skills to beat him (Maybe Machida with his "hit and run" tactics he uses?).

Anderson Silva has dominated every opponent except Chael Sonnen, so I am looking forward to that fight if they have it again. (Maybe Brian Stann could out fight Silva- I believe Stann is stronger and tougher)

GSP- No one in that division has any chance at all against him, imo. Condit is a great fighter, but not on GSP's level. The 2nd best in the division is Koscheck, who has beaten twice by GSP.

(The others really don't matter- Maynard vs. Edgar could go either way)

Does anyone think there is a UFC fighter who could beat any champion within their weight class?

  • French pronunciation of following words?

I was wondering if the following words are pronounced the same:

    Parler (to speak)

    Parlez-vous (Do you speak...)

    J'ai parle` (accent is over the e- I spoke)

Are the various forms of "parler" all pronounced "Par- lay" identically?

    Thanks

  • How long can a commander keep you on a Drill Weekend (Reservists)?

I have some friends in the Marine Reserve. They are kept at their unit for periods of time that far exceed 8 hours (ie 2 drill periods).

I was under the impression that a drill day was 2, four hour drill periods, for which they are paid. It only seems fair that they would be paid an additional drill period if they are forced to stay longer.

Does anyone have any insight on this? Any Marine Corps Orders, etc. (I'm trying to do research on it now).

    Thank you.

  • Soldier's opinion on this comment...Am I being too thin-skinned?

I'm in the military, and we were doing some training being instructed by Special Forces personnel.

The SF Sergeant made some comment that we need to "pretend we are SEALs" (or something like that), to which an older guy in civilian attire said "Just don't die like the SEALs" in reference to the recent helicopter crash that claimed 22 SEAL's lives.

The comment was "booed" and people said "too soon", but I thought it was totally f****d up for anyone to say. Of course, I didn't do anything but shake my head.

Am I being too thin-skinned, or was this simply f*****d up, especially considering nearly all of us there have been deployed/have buddies downrange right now?

    Opinions please.

  • How does Ron Paul think we should have reacted to 9/11?

I agree with Ron Paul on a lot of issues, but I cannot wrap my head around his lack of support for the war in Afghanistan. I agree with him that there should be a formal declaration of war, as well as understanding the fatigue of being at war for almost 10 years, and our flawed attempts at "nation building".

I have tried to find articles/videos that show what he would have done, but have come up empty,

I don't know of anyone that didn't support the US invading Afghanistan in 2001, as it harbored Al-Quada which was given refuge by the Taliban. He has denounced 9/11 "Truthers", so what is his plan?

What would he have done if he were president on 9/11/01?

    Thanks.

  • Can I get student loans deferred while in AIT?

I am in the National Guard and I just completed my AA degree and have some student debt from that.

(I was in a weird situation and wasn't eligible for Tuition Assistance/ Student Loan Repayment)

I am reclassing to another MOS that will entail about 18 months of AIT. Is there a method to getting my Student Loans deferred until I am done with AIT?

    Thanks for any help.
