How does Ron Paul think we should have reacted to 9/11?
I agree with Ron Paul on a lot of issues, but I cannot wrap my head around his lack of support for the war in Afghanistan. I agree with him that there should be a formal declaration of war, as well as understanding the fatigue of being at war for almost 10 years, and our flawed attempts at "nation building".
I have tried to find articles/videos that show what he would have done, but have come up empty,
I don't know of anyone that didn't support the US invading Afghanistan in 2001, as it harbored Al-Quada which was given refuge by the Taliban. He has denounced 9/11 "Truthers", so what is his plan?
What would he have done if he were president on 9/11/01?
Thanks.

We should have sent more troops, wasted Bin Laden in Tora Bora, and got the hell out of there.
We insisted on handling it like a war from the beginning. It wasn't a war until we made it one. We elevated a terrorist organization by treating it like a nation. They are insects, all we had to do is crush them.
The Israeli's are much smarter than us. They don't hang around like a bad disease when someone attacks them. They waste the people who did it and get the hell out. No nation building is required. You come in like a thief in the night and then disappear after slaughtering the pr*cks who attacked you. No hard feelings, no help for the natives, just destruction and death for those who brought it to you.

Ron Paul became in choose of going after those to blame for 9/11 (Al Qaeda). He became no longer in choose of war against the country of Afghanistan and dropping infinite American money on united states construction.

Of course Paul denounced the truther types, he's been in Washington for 30 yrs. and knows more than we will ever know about events leading up to 911, etc, he knows it was yet another Al Quada attack. Since then we have protected our hard targets here. Many experts think Afghanistan is a lost cause, even Russians could not conquer it. Very rugged mountains, and the taliban cannot be wiped out they are amongst people in tribal areas and protected. The main solution TODAY is our defense against terrorists like Al-Quada, but our open borders are letting terrorists in and government states yes they are here. Paul is not isolationist, believes in free trade but is for protectionism and the soverignty of our borders! Without our soverignty we have 'nothing'. a lot of people think we are losing our soverignty. I've found that on every issue of Paul's that I was skeptical about, when I researched it Paul was always 'right'.
Afghanistan's most productive crop is heroin which we can't seem to eradicate. As someone who has studied illegal drug problems for many years, drugs really should be de-criminalized which is different than legalization. Paul states he 'hates' illegal drugs, etc. Addiction is a biochemical brain disease like all other mental illnesses, proven and taught now in medical classes. Punishment is not for addiction. Paul would want to end the violent drug war in Mexico which directly profits our law enforcement system via many many victim addicts and their drug related crimes, with jail employees bringing in drugs to addicts as top watch commander related to me from the largest city jail. Of course the globalists for several reasons do not want to end our drug war, nor our other wars in fact they want them proliferated for 'profit'.

Paul voted to go after Al Queida, but he voted against invading Iraq, against Libya without Congressional approva, heck he even voted to investigate a Bush impeachment for lying about Iraq. He also advocates gettting out of middle eastern countries. If we werent there, they wouldnt feel the need to attack us. I was all aboard with the wars initially, it was a gut reaction. Anger dictated that we go get those MOFO's but looking at it now I believe Paul is right and I will be voting for him. You can see how he voted on things and SOME explanation on his thinking on that link. Look under the war and peace header down the page for some of the answers to this particular question.

1. Ron Paul is a conspiracy theorist. He readily admits his belief in multiple conspiracy theories.
2. He is partially correct. Most of the military leaders wanted a small surgical team of Special Forces to move in and out of Afghanistan to kill Osama Bin Laden while we still knew, relatively, where he was located. Bush, however, decided to send in a mass force of regular troops to secure the Afghan capital before he allowed any Special Forces. This slow, clumsy approach is what many analysts have said led to Osama bin Laden escaping in the first place. But really, Afghanistan did need complete reform (and thus full-scale invasion). America put the Taliban in power decades ago. We created our own problem. And it was only right of us to fix our problem and help the Afghan people.

He would have treated it as the law enforcement and intelligence problem that it is, not fruitlessly invaded other countries.
