Stolen Wallet? Will I ever get it back?
I left my wallet in a parking lot and the thief was caught on camera stealing it. I've filed a police report and the police has a clear picture and a home address of the guy who stole it. Will my wallet even be recovered? & how long will it take to get back?
It was a wallet and a handbag, which contained my phone and my ipod!!!!!!!!!!! And money!
I need to prepare myself now if there is a slim chance of me getting anything back. Because they know who the guy is. Its clearly on Camera.
Do police not really get it? I don't want to have a lot of hope if I'm only going to be disappointed.

You left it in the parking lot, so how is that stealing? He didn't take it from you. Granted he should have turned it in or called you. I am not sure that picking up a wallet in the parking lot is a crime. Call in to cancel your credit cards.

Just call them & tell them you are really anxious about the whole thing. The police work for you they are not doing you a favor they are doing a job. I don't mean to look down on them but you deserve to get your things back if they have it. There is a power within you creating your life. Know you deserve to be loved & respected & that you are one even with the theif. This person may have a drug problem or financial problem or something you don't want to have. So send loving energy to the police & to the theif & know that if you get it back great but trust that if you don't you will find a gift in this situation. If you have cards in there you will have to replace them but you will get through this & when you get all your cards put them all on a copy machine & have a page or pages to show what you have. You are not the first nor will you be the last this has happened to so just make yourself feel as good as you can.

I even have on no account had my wallet stolen yet one time I left my handbag with each and every thing in it at a city bus stop 30mins faraway from abode. I lived in a diverse city. and fortuitously I even have continuously had an identity card with my abode # on it and a few beneficial polish guy picked it up and called me to tell me i could desire to come get it. So I drove back to the city. If that beneficial guy had saved my handbag quite of returning it back to me i might have had to cancel all my enjoying cards and re persist with for each thing yet lower back like wellbeing card and etc..

Likelihood of your wallet being recovered? Slim. Likelihood of you getting anything in it back? Even slimmer.
Honestly if you left it in a parking lot... That was kind of free money for the guy who took it. He's probably ditched the thing by now, the wallet is worthless and he's probably taken everything worth something out of it.

Just because he's on camera doesn't mean they know who he is. They have murderers on camera, abductions - etc. I was able to get my boyfriend's wallet back one time because he left it on the bar and there was company protocol for safe keeping that was breached. Turns out a barmaid stole it and I cried bloody foul. Threatened to sue them. He had uncashed paychecks totaling 10,000 and 2500.00 in cash. Grand theft. We got the wallet back - less the cash. Good luck dear.

I don't think you'll get it back, I lost my wallet once and nvever saw any of it again, cards or cash.
Incidentally I once found someone else's walleyt lying int he street, and I did give it back. So I disagree with the answer that it's free money. It's free only if a dishonest oerson finds it.
