Neither the Kindle Fire, nor the Nook Tablet can replace your cell phone. They have speakers, but no microphone. Guess you would listen, but not talk!

i might get an android telephone beacause it has lots extra function and apps. the only plus the kindle fire has is this is cost and the actuality this is an ereader whether it has an 8gb inner storage without expandable memory.

Yes.i use the magicjack app for free calls on a kindle fire hd.this app works on apple or android tablets and phones.It is free and works well.
