Definition of suicide? Im confused?

Suicide, like murder, is the deliberate act of taking a life, in this case your own. An accident is not suicide

Usually suicide is a conscious decision.Technically an accidental self-inflicted fatal wound would be suicide by definition ie taking ones own life.However coroners investigation would easily determine intent and rule an accident in such cases.

If you accidently shot and killed yourself, that would be an accidental death, not suicide.
