Stop Immigration - shut off the borders!?

Shut off borders,repatriate the misbehaving ones who are already here

The time has long since passed for such action.

But the best case now is to secure the borders to prevent any further influx of unwanted intruders and round up the ones currently here. Toss all the illegals back whence they came, and do the same for the legal ones how have no source of income except sucking up public assistance.

Once we get fid of them it is time to toughen the standards for immigration.

Not everybody should be allowed to waltz into anywhere without means of financial support or a job in a skilled profession. We do not need any more waiters, dishwashers or other jobs that need no special skills. We have enough people to fill those positions. Until we get tough on the whole immigration the country will continue to go down the drain.

Yes, the borders should be shut and I don't care whether potential immigrants are black, white, yellow or pink with blue spots, the UK is full. However, the major fly in the ointment is that no UK government can close its borders to people from the EU. So if five million EU residents decided to come her on Monday there is nothing, apart from logistics, that would stop them. Remember this when Cameron says he's taking action on immigration. The UK needs to leave the EU and regain control of its own borders, it would also be nice to get our fishing grounds back and rebuild our fishing industry as well.

After reading the claptrap from Zak's deluded girlfriend,I find it reinforces my opinion of the madness of multiculturalism and the dangers of diversity,why can all these people heading towards these islands not stay in their own lands and work to make them successful,I will tell you,they are too fecking lazy and want to sponge of others and make this country a **** hole like their own,realist not racist.

Quite right - BUT - it won't be allowed to happen as long as our politicians continue their obsession with this 'defunct/bankrupt/failed/corrupt communistic EU regime' - they having 'already signed away' our UK rights/interests/cultures when signing that Lisbon Treaty - which confirmed we (UK) are just another satellite state within this EU system.

All your points are valid - and many people will agree with them - but its all to late - what we have now is/will be the norm for our lifetimes - the end result being the UK having absolutely no identity at all - we (UK) being just a mass immigration 'dumping point' - as indeed it has become already - funded entirely by the working taxpayers of our country.

The 'only survival action' would be too 'dump' the EU and all it stands for - and 'tear-up' all these documents that have tied-a-noose-around-the-UK's-neck since 1974 - but unless the peoples agree for a peoples government rebellion (which they won't) we're all stuck with the EU....whether we like it or not.!!

The 'billions' wasted in being a 'forced' member' by our own governments (past and present) has cost the taxpayers dear - with no contribution end in sight - the EU already demanding the UK contributes 'more' than it is now - we (UK) are seen by Brussels as a 'cash cow'....nothing more.

....feeling like a 3rd world country is correct - the completion of that is only a few years away - and our own political morons will have to admit (in the end) it was all ...'a complete waste of time' - and at 'great cost' too our country.

When we elect (as we have) self-serving political 'fools and imbeciles' thats what we get - the 'loss of a once great country' - of course the 'couldn't-careless-brigade' (millions) wouldn't agree - they seeing nothing wrong with the ways things are now and in the future.!!

Under those idiots Blair and Brown the immigration floodgates were opened. Over three million arrived from Third World countries, not including countless thousands of illegals.

Result was great for big business bosses, cut wages to Brits who pay their mortgages or sky-high rents, or who then froze workers pay rates, net result 2.7m on the dole today, millions more on other related benifits and Blair a multi,multi-millionaire.

I am not sure if you could resort to anything as rash as stopping immigration completely, but I think that it should be limited. I don't think that the amount of people entering the country should exceed the amount leaving. I also think that people entering the country should be able to enter on merit of what they can bring to the economy. Also, the biggest problem we have right now is illegal immigration.

This should have been done fifty years ago, when most of it all began.

Successive governments have ignored the problem - till it has become impossible to solve.

No, it's already swamped. The borders should have been shut in 1948.
