Braiding it works really well if you want your hair to be kinky and wavy.
I know Sally's has long thin curlers http://www.sallybeauty.com/flexible-rods/SBS-20940... that supposedly work really well. I haven't tried them myself but I've seen Youtube tutorials on them
Sock curls work really well.... the only problem is if you sleep on them funny they might not come out right and can be very unpredictable.
Another thing to try are pin curls if your willing to put in the time and effort.
Also while your hair is wet you could try splitting your hair into sections and twisting them and hair spraying them that works really well.
You could also try putting your hair into 4 separate messy buns while your hairs wet and sleeping like that. That works well to.
My suggestion is to just mess around and try a bunch of different things!

Socks and braiding overnight are good, but my favorite would have to be the pin curls. Dry your hair about 80% then curl it around your finger and Bobby pin them to your head. Wait at least 3 hours or sleep on it and Viola!!

I was, too, desperate for a way to curl my hair in a way that doesn't take too long, & everyday. There's these things called curlers. One thing is, don't get mistaken for the curlers you use RIGHT AFTER the shower. Once your hair is fully dried, there are these sponge curlers. You have an option of wearing them around the house, or wearing it at night. If you want big curls, I suggest the bigger sponge curls. If you want cute smal ones, there's also small curlers. I advise you wearing them over night, so for tomorrow morning, you take them out and.. mula! You get a fresh set of cute curls! I use them, too and they're amazing. These sponge curls, you can get at 99 cents stores, but really good. Walmart Target, etc. sell them, too. Here's a pic: http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://xtremeb...

Rag curls are easy and pretty. You could also just sleep in foam rollers.

What i do is this. Get a whole bunch of perm rods and roll them in your dry hair. You are going to do this the night before. No need to add chemicals to your hair. Then in the morning take them out and you will have lots of curly hair.
