Business stats percentage question. Will pick a best answer.?

So this question is really simple but I've tried my answers a couple of times & I keep getting it wrong for some reason.

The entire question is irrelevant expect for the last bit:

The Commerce Department reported receiving the following applications for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award: 23 from large manufacturing firms, 18 from large service firms, and 30 from small businesses.

What percentage of the applications came from small businesses (to 1 decimal)?

I've tried everything I know about percentages & I'm getting it wrong so if you could explain a little about the answer I'd really appreciate it!

I will choose a best answer. Thanks in advance! :)

You just add all the numbers together and divide the amount from small businesses.

    The total number is: 71

    30/71= 0.423*100= 42.3%

Check your work by adding the other percentages:

42.3+ 32.9+ 25.7= 100.9 which is close enough, so your answer is 42.3%.
