My hamster rolled in some boric acid. He might have eaten some.?
I rinsed him off with water. Is he going to get sick. Or worse? I have another hamster. Is it ok to put him back in the cage with him. He was in his ball when somehow he got out or the lid somehow came loose. I found him behind my refrigerator with boric acid on his back, and i dont know but he may have eaten some. Please someone tell me what to expect.

there are signs that can help you determine if your pet has ingested poison, look for general mood and attitude changes, they may become aggressive or act in a manner contrary to normal behavior.physical symptoms can include: drooling excessively, vomitting, diarrhea, tenderness in stomach area when trying to handle or touch. The pet may also have difficulty standing or walking, or seem overall unsteady. Its better to air on the side of safety and take him to a vet to be checked out, especially if you see any of these signs, take him to a vet immediately.

DO NOT put the contaminated hamster in with the other one!
Brush off as much as you can with a DRY wash cloth - the boric acid won't hurt his skin, but I'm not quite sure what happens if he ate some.
