When is the usual first appointment when pregnant?
I thought you was supposed to have the first appointment at like 6 weeks not 9 weeks? I'm a little upset because I have to wait till I'm 9 weeks to be able to get in for doctor appt. Is this normal?

It varies depending on what your doctor recommends. With my first two I was seen between 6-8 weeks. I called my ob/gyn to schedule an appointment this time and they wanted me to wait until I missed 2 periods, and then even longer. I would have been 11 or 12 weeks along by then. Needless to say, because of that and other reasons from the past, I switched doctors. I was seen at 3 weeks 6 days for my first appointment and go back this Thursday at 6 weeks 6 days.
There is no need really to be seen sooner but I wanted to meet my new doctor and get things going. I had my blood work done and got my "official" due date.

It really depends on the doctor's office you go to.
I had my first appointment at 6 weeks, but most of the offices around here won't see you until 8-10 weeks. So yes, it's completely normal.

All doctors are different, you normally go get blood work and find out then they schedule your first appt, and no it doesn't have to e six weeks! They normally just have to see you before your 12 weeks cause there are certain tests that you will have the option of having done in the baby that have to be done before then and then it's normally every 4 weeks after that!
