- 32x - 24 = - 2 - 42x

10x = 22

x = 22/10

or

x = 2 1/5.

First, put all the x's on one side and everything else on the other. Like this;

-32x - 24 = -2 -6x - 36x (distributive property)

-32x +6x + 36x = -2 + 24 (grouping the like-terms)

10x = 22 ( adding the like-terms)

x = 22 / 10 = 2.2
