How long does it take to change a furnace?
Our neighbor is putting in a new furnace for us and it is taking a long time. How long does it take on average?

So many variables must be considered when estimating the time/cost for HVAC repairs. An HVAC specialist with tools, training and a tin bashing shop at his disposal would need three days to swap out a furnace in a 1300Ft2 home, more if the furnace has a rec-room built around it.

I have seen a couple of very accessible ones where an experienced pro swapped out the air handler in maybe 4 hours or so.
They both did have easy access, and he had no problems adapting to the existing ducting. They were both gas-fired units, one had AC, the other didn't. Don't recall the unit sizes. One home is about 1400sf, the other a little over 2000sf.
