Southern Hemisphere winter starts June 1st and ends August 31st. Auckland is in Southern Hemisphere.

Well, in New Zealand winter season starts 1st of June and Finished 31st of August.
Amazingly, Auckland had Snow in for the first time in August 2011, the last time they had snow was in 1939. And I was in AUCKLAND when it started snowing. It was Beautiful!
