Are the tourettes guy videos real or faux?
A lot of people have stated they are real because Tourettes is a very real neurological disorder, and some of the events that unfold in the videos seem too real to be fabricated. Both arguments are valid, but as a filmmaker I have a keen ear and eye for what is staged and edited. It's second nature. The videos do have very real moments, but at other times everyone comes across as
wooden actors, and not to mention the camera setups are too perfect not to mention convenient. Also, if one recalls the editor mentions how Danny's ticks correspond to the Lion King in one video, but yet it's easy to hear that it was just audio dubbed in after the fact and not caught simotaniously. Just things like that make me question the validity of these videos.
Has anyone come forward and said they are fake?

No it is fake. That guy is just looking for laughs. People with tourettes don't do that. He looks like he has anger management issues more then he has tourettes. It annoys me because the world has this false view of us because of that idiot. Tics don't come at all like he portrays them. The cursing tourettes is only in a very small percentage of people with tourettes and he doesn't accompany a motor tic when he preforms a vocal tic. The biggest giveaway is that he does it as a sentence. When people with tourettes tic it is not like that and usually the vocal ones are in a different pitch from your normal voice (unlike his "tics" which he does in the same voice as his normal talking) Also we feel the tic coming, it is not random like he makes it appear to be. The only reason we let it out is because if we hold it in the next time it becomes more painful and stronger.
Also vocal tics are usually coughing, sniffing, grunting or yelping. There are cases where they are words but those are called complex tics and a small percentage of people with tourettes have that as well.
Edit: yes I know that people with complex vocal tics say sentences like yours and some curse ( small percentage) but if you watch that guy it is clear what I meant by how he does it as a sentence. I meant because the way he does it is like more of an ongoing statement out of anger. Like when he gets injured he goes into anger statements that go on and on. tics don't come like that. Tics are quicker than that. It is like he does a freaking anger monologue every time he gets injured. The way he does it is really stupid and done for laughs. That is what I meant. Sorry if the way I worded it was wrong and sorry if I offended you or anything.

I don't believe anyone from the makers of the show has said that they are fake. But it looks really fake.. The guy may have tourettes but he definitely exaggerates it.
@Cjmjm2, I don't watch any of the tourette's guy but I do know who he is.. You say the biggest give away is because he says it in a sentence. I have coprolalia and mine comes in a sentence.. Some of my sentences are.. "You stupid b***h a** mother fu**er" (It has no meaning and it's in a normal tone maybe a shout). "Fu**ing fa**ot", "God damn b***h a** mother fu**er".
You say that he doesn't have a motor tic while he has a vocal tic.. I don't have a motor tic when I do a vocal tic.. Yeah, it's not random or at least not for me.. I generally know when my vocal tics are coming except for a little grunt I do.. It just kind of comes out.. and some of my motor tics just kind of happen.. I'm aware I'm doing it but I couldn't stop it because I didn't know it was coming. .
I'm not trying to bash you, I'm not trying to say you're wrong. I'm just saying there are people out there that defies what you just said. I'm one of them. MAYBE (but probably not) the tourettes guy is one of them.
Edit: Oh no, you didn't offend me. I don't get offended at much..

He does have Tourette. His is MILD, though. His overly crude behavior is due to his Alcoholism and his personality, not to the minor twitches his Tourette causes. If one knows much about Tourette syndrome, one can quickly see his behaviors are voluntary and not to do with the disorder.
His behavior is perpetually in context with his environment, he finds his behaviors funny, enjoys posting about them>>not behaviors charcteristic of Tourette. People with coprolalia, the involuntary swearing caused by Tourette, are usually embarassed by it, apologetic, and do not typically say things that are contextual in terms of their tics.
I have coprolalia. Yes, I do yell swears. However, I usually cover my mouth or try to slurr the words that way people out in public don't understand it. I certainly don't post videos boasting about my ability to swear in public without getting in trouble. Videos I have made make it clear that 1) I hate this symptom. 2) The Tourettes Guy videos spread stigma. His own site says his tics are 1) MILD and 2) he made those videos for fun.
Tourette's guy is a derogatory fake which has set back the community education efforts of people who care about those of us with Tourette. He clearly thought they were funny.
