Which Book in the Bible do you feel is most effective proof that the bible is fiction?

Why not, for just one shining moment, ask what book is the most effective proof that it is FACT. If you have one ounce of intellectual curiosity, you will look to the book of Isaiah and compare it's prophecy about the fall of ancient Babylon with secular historical accounts of that event.

@Tomcat: Sorry, but with all due respect, only the intellectually INcurious will dismiss or mock something without thorough examination. That's a fact.

@ No study needed. :) If someone says I'm not interested in examining something before I criticize it then that is a lack of intellectual curiousity. If you HAD studied the bible earlier, you might have mentioned it instead of saying you "prefer to use [my] intellectual curiosity to ask intelligent questions". It implies you hadn't, wouldn't you say? I write and edit for a living. I read words very carefully. But it's all good.

Well, Genesis is at complete odds with science. We can see many different types of evidence to show that the planet did not form like the bible says and that life did not form as the bible says. Plus the whole story of Noah and the ark is such a fairy tale. You can write whole books dealing with how that story does not match the facts from the beginning to end. I am embarrassed for people who actually believe that story is true.

It has been said by many that just reading the bible from cover to cover is possibly the most effective way of proving that theism is wrong.

However, for your entertainment, have a look at the gospels and the clear discrepancy between them about who the first visitors are to Jesus' tomb following his crucifixion..

Genesis.

Easily 90% of it is demonstrably false, shown so by more than ample evidence.

The other 10% has no supporting evidence of any kind.

I usually can't get through Genesis without laughing my butt off. Though they're all pretty funny, but starting the books off with such a flawed description of reality just really sets the rest of them up.

Genesis. It says on the first day god created light, but on the third god created stars. Genesis is full of contradictions.

Genesis, because almost all of it can be affirmatively tested and debunked by modern science.

been proven incorrect in any.
