What is the number of workers hired by these "1%'ers" you keep complaining about...?

If the priority of this nation is jobs, or putting people back to work, and the 1%'ers have and are employing a great number of people, then let them have the money they have invested in companies and corporations. These will have to be permanent employees and not recipients of any federal program fundings, such as student summer-jobs program or part-time Job Corps students...!!!

I'm a leftist, and as such I think there's a huge flaw with the way you're thinking about this question.

What you're basically saying --- I think this is right -- is that the top 1% of the population, in addition to reaping about 23% of the total wage income and capital gains of the country, and in addition to owning more than 50% of the country's total wealth -- also controls who gets hired in the country.

Shouldn't we try to correct this sorry situation? Like try to change the structure of the US economy, so that the poorest 99% of the population doesn't depend for our daily bread on a tiny, super-rich minority of the population that's exploiting everyone else?

Because if we allow the 1% to KEEP all the power & influence they've got, or if we even INCREASE it -- aren't we asking for them to become a new feudal aristocracy, with the rest of us mostly having to become serfs and peons under their control?

Don't the lowest 99% of the population, or at least the lowest 70%, need to work for some redistribution of wealth & power in our society, so we aren't reduced almost to the status of "slaves" who can only work & can only survive, at the whim of the ultra-rich?

Isn't that what makes the OWS protests so important?

Most multinationals are mostly hiring & manufacturing in places like Asia now, in case you haven't been paying attention to the world we live in lately.

Elites haven't been making their money nationally for a while now.
