housing benefit query! UK. Shared Ownership?
I own 50% of my property and my mum owns the other 50%... basically because i couldnt afford the whol property just myself. however i pay rent to my mum on the other half of the property and we have a full valid and commercial arrangement (she doesnt live with me). she took on this property for her personal investment. im now on statutory maternity pay and will be looking to claim housing benefit for 2-3 months max... would i be entitled on this basis? please only answer if you are HB officer and know

I am not a housing officer, but I am a tenancy advisor and I can confirm that you would not be entitled to housing benefit for this period. However you may (not my area of expertise) be able to claim SfMI for this period, where the state will contribute to the interest you have to pay on your half of the mortgage.
