Dog ate half a jar of peanut butter!?
My dog ate half a jar of peanut butter..It was Kraft peanut butter, and the whole jar was 1 kg, but he had half.We have two dogs, and we are suspecting that my 5 and a half month old puppy ate most of it, but we aren't sure.
Anyway, what will happen and what should we do?

Peanut butter is not toxic to dogs, it is a common ingredient in many treat. It is however, very oily. If your puppy ate half a kg of it, don't be surprised if he gets an upset stomach (especially diarrhea) from all the oils.
I wouldn't panic, if he managed to get at the peanut butter, he is probably a bigger dog so half a kg to his body weight probably wont affect him too badly.

Call your vet.
Peanut butter contains a lot of fat and protein, and you don't say how big your dogs are.
they could be 10 or 100 pounds each - and that matters a great deal.
If there is too much fat, it could cause pancreatitis - which is deadly.
Just because a food is generally safe in small doses doesn't mean it's fine to eat a massive amount.
Call your vet - they would know what your dogs weigh and whther they should be in danger.
Don't leave this stuff up to random strangers on the internet.

She's probably going to throw up, but that's ok. Dogs do that all the time when they overeat, its a harmless reflex most carnivores have. There isn't really anything to worry about, though, peanut butter doesn't have anything in it that's bad for dogs. Its just the large quantity that's upsetting her stomach. So, to answer your question, make sure she has plenty of water (vomiting can be dehydrating) and maybe put down some newspaper. That's about all you need to do.

Well, some of the ingredients in kraft aren't the best for dogs, like sugar, but it shouldn't harm the dog. Skip the dog's next meal... it's already fed itself supper !!! -!-

My 6 month old did this a few months ago! They sure do love it, don't worry just make sure your puppy has fresh water and half his next meal.
