Pool design and build it yourself ?

Anyone here ever built there very own swimming pool ? In ground ?

I am playing with the idea to build our very own pool. I like the idea of using rebar and spraying the concrete (pebble based, washed look) reinforced of course.

We live in a COLD place..... winters are harsh... so the pool must be built such that it can sustain the heaving of frost.

I don't mind the idea of using a liner.... but would like to hear from anyone who's built a pool from scratch or from a kit . Costs would be appreciated too.

thanks !

Update:

i have found this website.... http://www.homebuiltpools.com/plans/plans.htm

I just want to know if anyone here has made an INGROUND POOL ???

In ground will be expensive plus all the problems in the winter,
