Temporary Flea Treatment? ?

I can't get my dogs flea meds for another week and a half due to billing issues, and I'm mad. She just picked up some fleas from the woods by our house and the meds were supposed to be here on time to prevent that but, alas, things happened, and now she's so itchy and scratchy that she's biting her backside so hard that she's getting little abrasions that swell and make her more itchy.

She's allergic to flea saliva, and she also has breed-related dry skin, which is usually managed with oatmeal bathes and prescription lotions (Benadryl and Dermasil) but combined, an endless circle of irritation and dry, flaky skin starts. Its so frustrating, I don't know how to help her.Its not just her either, these fleas are biting EVERYONE in our house. Extra strength flea bombs are coming with the meds but I have to wait for that also

Is there anything we can do in the mean time? She's been dewormed for multiple types of worms and is UTD on all shots so I'm not worried about her or us getting an internal disease from the fleas but this is a very very frustrating situation.:/

Also,I can't give her temp flea drops because then her prescriptions can't be administered. Yet another irritating twist. My poor pup.:(

You can use a flea shampoo and it will still be safe to use her medications a few days later when they arrive. If you can find it some brands do make oatmeal flea shampoos, just be sure to let it sit for the longest recommended time

If you absolutely don't want to use anything with medication in it you can use lemon dish soap. You put it on thick and let it sit for about ten minutes, it will kill what is on her. I wouldn't recommend this method especially since she already has dry skin because it will strip her natural oils.

It doesn't sound like what you are looking for but just in case, never use a flea collar. They are not effective and they can be dangerous to your dogs health.
