What can Yahoo! Answers do about people deleting questions?

Something needs to be done because I've lost count of the times I've wrote a long answer to someones question only to see its been deleted when I press the submit button. Its so frustrating and annoying, especially when it happens to you 3 times in a row like I just experienced.

Yahoo! Needs to find a solution to this because it isn't fair on all the people who take the time to answer. Maybe... questions can only be deleted up to 5mins after they've been published - after 5mins your not able to delete it anymore. I know that's not perfect but something needs to be done to stop this from happening so much.

Any ideas?

Update:

NOTE: This is nothing to do with questions that break the rules by violating the terms and conditions of Y!A.

I agree.i hate that.they need to erase it completely so it doesnt even appear anymore.that way no one even gets to attempt to answer.i once put my heart and soul into my answer for a question that really struck my heart.and when I realized it was all in vain I was crushed.i agree they must do something.hope this helped.bye

The only solution would be for Yahoo to be allowed to control your computer so they could interupt your typing to warn you. Nobody including Yahoo wants that. The only thing you can do is submit your answer as you go along and then edit the answer to add the rest. That will save you some lost time if the asker deletes the question. It is also advised for long answers to type it in your word processor and cut and paste it. That will help you avoid another problem of the system or your ISP timing you out before you submit and giving you an error. When this happens, the question may still be there if you refresh. Last, another recommendation is to avoid long answers totally. Most askers never really read them and you may just be wasting your time.

I know what you mean. This doesnt answer to me much.Perhaps I dont reply to anything that I am not sure of.I may even report it myself!

I wonder if you need to submit such a detailed reply.I wonder how many askers will be interested enough to read it?

You could give a short outline reply, submit it and if all is well in a couple of hours edit your original answers to give more detail if you wish?

Nothing..rarely are questions deleted that don't violate the guidelines..people just don't know the guidelines. Everyone has the right to appeal.

I know. That's frustrating. YA itself does the deleting so I guess they have to fix it.
