What's with all the pictures of horses wearing bridles without reins?

Is this just for taking photos? Is the bridle supposed to be more aesthetically pleasing than a halter?

It's to show off how good the horse looks. I don't exactly know why but in pictures for horses for sale or just in a fancy image to show how the breed looks like they will just put the bridle on without reins. They do this by fancy breeds or with horses from a professional breeding barn only though

Could be showing that a sale horse is accustomed to a bit.

Could be they just snapped a picture with the thing on - people use those bridles to get a young or untried horse used to the feel of a bit in their mouth, or just when switching from a different bit.

People think horses look flashier with their bridles on than with just a halter on. I personally don't care much for it, but you have to please the client. If I had photos of my horse done, I would either just use a nice leather halter or nothing at all.

    I have no clue.

Just for looks I guess. Show off how good the horse looks in a bridle....? Lol don't ask me, I haven't a clue as to why.

I have no clue. I think halters look better. I guess because it covers up the least of the horse. they're more for conformation pictures I guess.

i believe its just for the photo i dont see any real technique or training thing that the horse needs to wear a head stall and bit its just for looks and many breeds that are non us breeds from other countries do this more in their photos and most of them are breed photos that go into books

I think it look fancy, a simple o ring with a headstall, personally.
