Is asus a good laptop brand?
I've heard they have a good warranty on their products but I am not personally familiar with this company. Is asus well known and internation? Do they make good laptops?

Yes to all your questions. Asus have been around a long time, and offer excellent quality and excellent value for your money. I have an Asus Pentium 4 laptop that I bought around 6 years ago - its beaten up, bits of case broken, cracked, now running windows 7 Pro (was XP Pro). Still starts up every time, and performs well.

In addition to 1 year parts and labor on manufacturing defects they have a 1 year Accidental Warranty that covers Drops, Spills, Fire, and Power Surges.
