Have you ever met someone that did seem like a soul-mate? Ever had a stranger break your heart?

I want to explain that I don't personally believe in the concept. But I mainly just want to tell my story here:

One evening 3 years ago, I went to a musical performance for my friends at the local college. This girl had to be there for her music appreciation class, and she brought her friend and happen to sit right beside me. When a friend of mine was singing, I sort of laughed to myself and the friend leaned over asking what I was laughing about. We talked for a little bit and that was it. The girl is incredibly gorgeous--I can say I have never met or seen anyone with a better body, face, and (for what I saw) personality(a sense of being non-judgmental and polite/ very approachable). I would seriously say the closest to perfection that a girl can be. Now the thing is, I don't dwell on any girl ever. I didn't really think that we'd be date so I didn't ask for her phone number or anything. Instead, we just exchanged names and a little small talk. It did seem like before we all left they were expecting me to maybe ask for a phone number but I didn't. Instead, I told them it was nice to meet them and then I left it alone.

To this day, I find myself regretting that I didn't even try to have a friendship with that person. But it's beyond just a selfish thing, it's like some kind of relationship was meant to happen with her. I couldn't explain it. It is seriously like I met someone divine in a sense and that I missed some incredible opportunity. I remember her name still, but I don't feel like being a creep to find her. I just wish that I could run in to her again.

I met the friend about 2 years later, and she remembered me. She said to her other friend that we met at a music recital and that I "was with that girl"--even though they were friends. I wanted her to elaborate on what she meant there, but it wasn't the place.

Don't think of me as superficial in my description. If you were to see her, you'd agree that she is one of the most beautiful women that you have ever seen. Anyway, I hadn't though of her in a while and she just happened to be in a dream I had where we sort of had a relationship. When I woke up, my "heart" hurt in a sense that I can't explain. It's like we broke up after years together--and remember that I haven't even had a friendship with her.

She probably doesn't remember me, but she's able to break my heart. It may seem that I romanticized her in my mind, but I remember regretting the moment she walked out of the auditorium.

So, similar "soul-mate" stories? Anyone have their heart broken by a stranger?
