Is there a source to replace the flexible poles in a umbrella tent?
I have a perfectly good two-man tent with the 'fly-rod' flexible rods and they broke. Any ideas on how to replace those rods? Thanks.
Hey, gale-force winds through West Texas last weekend. I found this tent hung up in my tree. So I don't need a $200 tent for two reasons.
First time out to our brand new Gander Mountain, very nice store much like the hunting stores I am used to visiting when I'm in the MetroPlex. The tent rod kit was $9.99.

go to your local camping store. Bass pro, Cabela's, Gander Mountain, to name a few where i live. They should have a kit with the black poles and the metal adapters. then a bungee to string them together.
You can cut the poles to the needed length and you put the tension on the chord.
my dad got one for $7.00.

When you have a gear question, provide the precise details about the model and brand tent that you own. Usually, the major tent manufacturers have a customer service number for replacement parts. Often, a brand name tent is actually manufactured by a large corporation that supplies tents for many different brands. A simple fiberglass pole repair kit is available at any gear or department store. Your "perfectly good" car-camping tent is probably not worth the price of the repair kit. If you want a durable and sturdy tent, look for one with aluminum poles in the price range above $200.
