What do you think about the 49ers getting Peyton Manning this season?
Patriots, Packers, Lions, Saints, Bears, and the New York Giants are all teams that the 49ers are playing for the new 2012 season this fall (Just found that out), IF the 49ers don't sign Peyton Manning they very well might have a horrible season. What do you think? Get Rid of Alex Smith (Someone who cannot complete 3rd down) for Peyton Manning? I think this could be a good fit because Rex Ryan wouldn't be someone Manning would want to be his coach and the 49ers coach is much better (Coach of the Year) fit for Manning, Daivs, Crabtree, Walker, Frank Gore, all guys that would fit with Peyton Manning, what do you think?

Look at the facts:
1) Even with those opponents the Niners should still be able to win the NFC West
2) Alex Smith was one of the best QB's in the league this season. There is no reason to think that with the new scheme that was put in place this year he cannot do it again next season.
3) Peyton will eat up a lot of cap space. The Niners would be better served using the money they have to add another elite WR and resign some of their key players.
4) It is not known if Manning will be medically cleared to play either.

I don't think Harbaugh wants to get rid of Alex Smith. But Harbaughs QB is 6'5" Colin Kaepernick who is just sitting back and learning from a seasoned QB who knows this system. Alex Smith is a fill in for when Colin is ready.

I will believe he will play again when I see it. He needs to keep pretending like he is willing/able to play again in order to keep the $ coming in on his present contract. That doesn't mean he is actually going to do so.
