Would you consider yourself a good cook or do you smother everything in a tasty gravy to...?

By the way, personally I think only others can comment on one's catering ability. Many say they are 'a good cook' but when push comes shove few actually are, no matter how many episodes of 'Come dine with me' they watch.

In Louisiana men do a lot of the cooking. My specialties are Italian but I'm not bad at Mexican and Cajun. I do use gravies on some things but I'm not much of a fan of gravy so I only use it on certain things.
