Anyone else think the Republicans should stop calling themselves the GOP?
The "Grand Old Party" conjures up images of old, rich, white guys slapping each other on the back and smoking fat cigars, exactly the imagery that hurts them the most. And the fact that everyone's expected to call them that. You even hear liberals, who surely don't think of Republicans as grand, refer to the party as the GOP. And the "Old" part makes them sound out of touch with today's realities.

I think the images it "conjures up" are about right.
If you are NOT a old, rich, white guy..... you SHOULD be asking yourself EXACTLY WHY you are voting for the benefit of old, rich white guys instead of your own benefit.

Andrew Jackson was called a jackass so much, out of spite, he made it the symbol of the new Democratic Party. Do they need to get rid of that symbol too?
