Why does the USA need a massive 3000 employee embassy in Baghdad?

Iraq war is finished now at least for the USA.( If Iraqis are bombing and killing themseves that is their internal matter)

Most developing countries such as Iraq where the USA has embassies usually empoly only about 50 persons.

Oh really? Tell me the developing countries besides Iraq and I'll give you a better guestimate on how large the staff is. I was in Afghanistan and there were at least 800 employees at the Embassy permanently and another rotating staff of 200 or 300. I don't believe there are 3000 employees at the Embassy in Baghdad (where'd you get that number) but if you add the immediate staff to that of the Provincial Reconstruction Teams, security personnel, United States Agency for International Development and a whole host of Non-Governmental Agencies, then you'll get a large number but not 3,000.

The concept of Iraqis killing themselves is an internal problem but our goal was stability and self-governance. Do you think that suicide bombers is an indication of stability or instability? And when they choose to take innocents with them then we get involved.
