Is there a difference between these temperatures???

Is there a difference between "heat" and "cool" if you have the thermostat set on the same temperature? Like if you have it on 74 heat, is that the same as 74 cool? Really confusing me...

The difference is what the system will do if the temperature is not 74. If it is set on 74 heat, the heater will activate if the room temperature falls below 74, while 74 cool will activate to cool the room if the temperature rises above 74. So if you want it to get no warmer than 74, set it on 74 cool. If you want it to get no colder than 74, set it on 74 heat.
