Is it the concensus of the experts in the Y!A Spanish Football section that Xavi is an average player?

... based on stats provided by an oddball site and the lack of scored goals?

In other words, BS?

But we're 'supposed' to believe it and yet dismiss the FACT that Mourinho sends his players in hopes they maim Messi when video as proof of NUMEROUS incident involving THREE different teams and NUMEROUS players manage by the same man have been provided...

You have to love Mourinhistas...

Update:

@ Iker: No I do not rate Xavi above all those other guys, some but not all, and I really don't care. The purpose of my question was not really about Xavi but more about the idiocy displayed by the Mourinhistas...

Well, He is the best in his position. And can be easily listed in the category of Best Players and he even was one of the three finalists in the Ballon d'or only behind Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi !

Xavi gives his best in the pitch all for the team.

He definitely is not an average player at all......

I've debated quite a lot on this topic; I have gotten a bit tired arguing with people on here .. I'm sorry DUBYA, but you're gonna have to read the details in one of my questions posted earlier ..

LMAO....Just look at how Iker is trying to compare Xavi with Di Stefano ( a forward by trade ) and saying Di Stefano COULD play in central midfield better than Xavi....haters these days

BTW, Is Messi also a better midfielder than Xavi since he's very "versatile" and most of the time "operates" in the middle of the pitch ?

No player that plays for Barca or Real can be considered 'average'

There's a reason they're the two best teams in the world

The same world class experts that that cry and blame referees, uefa, unicef, illuminti etc for every lost game and get mad when Xavi calls them sore losers. The same experts that claim that madrid defenders are better than barca defenders despite having a better keeper and more goals conceived.

The same experts that now claim Casillas is at fault for madrid losing to barca.

Madridista Logic is very as* backwards and blinded by josgay mourniho

People dont realize he is not an attacking midfielder. His job is to keep possesion and distribute the ball. He may not score a lot but he certainly surpasses other players in the passing game. 3,500 passes completed in 2011, now that is just amazing

No he is not average. Put it this way, I'd have him before Fabregas any day of the week and the way people on here go on about him you'd think he's god.

    Iniesta is better

This whole someone needs a team to perform is rather common sense, there are different types of players. A Ex-proffesional turned scout i know told me he sees there are three different types of players, the hard man (defence), The glue player (xavi) and the attacker (striker, winger in the modern game, etc.) To his opinion as well as mine the glue player is the most important to have. No one can argue players like xavi, ozil, gotze, wilshere, cesc, dennis bergkamp, zidane, lampard, modric etc. are badass players. Some are even greats in their own rights.

To me xavi is the best player on barcelona, his football iq is unmatched, his positioning is uncompeted against. He is a great player and imo the best on barcelona.

Im a glue player just like xavi that is why my opinion is as such, i follow his play more than anyone else on the barcelona team.

In otherwords, whoever calls him average or tries to critic is ability is in denial, as a strong hater of barcelona and i dislike xavis attitude lol but i can still comfortable admit he is one of the best midfielders of his generation, and he has some steep competition which makes it even more impressive.

@ iker Di stefano was purely a striker mate. he was the van basten of his generation, the center mid was puskas, who was a player similar to zidane. :)

EDIT: Oh how i understand that mr iker, i understand more than you know. I have seen real game footage tapes of him playing. but he did not play to control the game, he played to score. His official position and his ability reflects that of a top of the fromation striker. I believe you should watch more of him instead of read about him. the eyes catch so much more than the the brain its ridiculous.

OH and some clips from youtube just dont really count imo ;)

EDIT: Having watched both play, i would say They're nothing alike as players. lol But yes Di Stefano was a better player than xavi in certain aspects of the game, i never said he wasnt. Di Stefano is heralded by pele himself as the best player of all time, which watching eusebio, Cryuff, Best, Zidane, Pele, rivelino etc. i would have to agree with. I dont think garrincha's techincal ability even matched di stefano, but i still think you cant compare di stefano to xavi as they had a completely different style of play. Di stefano classifies as an attacker, just as the scout told me. No need to spat at me quotes.. lol like i said the eyes are a better judgement than a piece of paper.

I really didnt miss your point kid, i was merely stating why your point is invalid :), any player CAN play any position, its a matter of football IQ and techincal ability. and di stefano had loads of it. But i wouldnt put him on hte list when puskas was the main glue player for francos madrid.

@Josh you know how i got to watch all these old tapes? my dad has an old family friend in seattle that collected that stuff throughout the years, he even has a few pele sign uniforms. havent spoken to him in years but ill tell you, his house is a football lovers dream lol

Experts? The people whom you are referring to are NOT experts lol

LOL @ Saint Iker. Di Stefano, center mid? Di Stefano was played as center forward & attacking mid, not center midfielder, like Noah told you. You REALLY know alot about your club's history lol

@ Saint Iker: Getting worse? I reckon I learn something new about football almost every day (more like every week tbh)! I'll back what Noah said for now. And you just said, Di Stefano is better classified and casually classified as a forward, but what can I say? I'm only 19, I wasn't alive to see him play, nor Cruyff, nor Maradona, nor...anyone else. Were you alive to see him play, grandpa? Wisdom comes with age ;)

@Noah: thats crazy! I wish I had someone close to me that had all that stuff, though all my friends now don't like football very much (except @ college), I would love to visit his house! Maybe you & I can do the same when we're old geezers, I'm inspired to collect everything related to Barcelona (videos, kits, books), and show it to my children & anyone else lol
