Philomena - nickname "Mena", "Pippa" or "Phia"

    Aina is definitely better, but "Mena" is a good nickname for Philomena.

    Philomena is a bit of a mouthful for a young child to say. But I love the name Pippa.

    I personally like the "sound" of Pippa. But I have to ask: why would a parent not put on the birth certificate the name they would actually call the child? However, if the name "Philoman" is important because it is the name of someone the parent wishes to honor, then "Mena" might be preferable.
