The price of many basics are rising far in excess of wages but the Liberals say and do nothing, why ?

The Libs like to shout about looking after ordinary people but I hear no action on the energy prices they were promising not long ago.Seems to me they are just as bad as the other two parties when it comes to looking after the interests of the electorate. They won't get my vote again.

All politicians encourage from the masses the philosophy of 'The meek shall inherit the earth.

The United Kingdom are renowned for the characteristics of 'Grin and bear it' and fall the the category of

the 'Jam tomorrow' brigade whilst Greeks and French offer protest more readily.

A good question here as water prices which were taken as free 50 years ago are to rise by 5% yet the salaries/wages are held below inflation rates and in many cases pegged for 2/3 years.

There are many necessary services a person can quote such as train fares, fuel bus fares.

Yes!I can see where you are coming from with this question as pensions and wages/salaries are gradually eroded in buying power.

The fact is that the Liberals are in the pocket of the Tories, and despite all their rhetoric they are powerless against the Tory masters. Just yesterday I read that the water companies are now vying to increase the price we pay for water by around 16%. The utility companies have us by the throat every time. I blame Thatcher for selling them off in the first place. If they had still been state controlled and owned by the tax payer, the government may have been able to peg prices to ensure that we could all afford to heat our homes every winter, without the need for cold weather payments to the elderly.

The big supermarkets are just as bad. Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury and other national supermarket chains have increased the prices of almost every basic commodity on their shelves. Even Aldi, who were once the cheapest little in the way of a bargain these days. It is a shocking sign of the times.

I'm afraid that all three parties, lib lab and con have morphed into one single body of MPs all cooperating to keep themselves in parliament, and all the others out. A vote for any one of the three main parties is a vote for exactly the same policies. This country will not recover while the lib lab con is in parliament. The British people have to vote them out if they want to see a safe future for their children.

Because they sold their souls out to the Tories for a chance of power sharing, which, in the end, has marginalised them completely. The Tories don't care about the sufferings of ordinary people, as long as their mates in charge of the global power producing corporations are making lots of money.

The Liberals could do something if they had the guts to pull out of the coalition and vote with Labour against government policies.

Because they can't do anything about it. Prices go up because of inflation due to more money being injected into the system, or because of low supply/high demand. Neither of which politicians control.

Because they are now in power and have to deal with the real world
