Suzi Leather now shown to be an incompetent was appointed by Blair is anyone surprised ?
Dame Suzi Leather a Labour Party member is now being savaged for her incompetence in checking a charity that was simply a tax avoidance scheme. Is anyone surprised at another disaster from the 'Friends of Blair Club'
1 AnswerPolitics8 years agoHow many people are aware of John Reid former Home Secretary's connection with G4S I wonder ?
G4S about whom the current uproar over the Olympic Games is ongoing were awarded their contract by the Labour Government.
2 AnswersGovernment9 years agoWhy is the Immigration Minister in partial denial about the fiasco at Heathrow ?
BAA and the airlines have all condemned the appalling maladministration in immigration procedures at Heathrow over the past few days.Even Cameron has said it's got to be got a grip of. Apparently May and Green don't think that involves them.I use the airport frequently and have seen long queues before the latest situation but never as bad.If Green can't cut the mustard on this he should be got rid of.
5 AnswersImmigration9 years agoThe IPCC have found that the employment of Neil Wallis and his daughter by the Met was not corrupt. Really ?
The IPCC says the employment of Wallis and his daughter by the Met was not corrupt but the guidelines for such employment were blurred. To a lot of people this is just a well written bit of gobbledygook amounting to a complete whitewash for all the high ranking pals of Wallis in the Met.
2 AnswersLaw Enforcement & Police9 years agoNice to see that Unite are now trying to organise a strike with the fuel delivery drivers isn't it ?
At the same time as with Comrade Crow of the RMT trying to disrupt the Tube over the period of the Olympics because Transport for London refuse to pay £850.00 to the membership without imposing conditions on it.
6 AnswersGovernment9 years agoNow that there is a water shortage again isn't it time for desalination plants ?
I seem to remember Ken Livingstone proposing this in the South East and being criticised for the proposal but he may well have been correct. The government like Nero will carry on fiddling and do nothing I suppose until forced by public opinion.
10 AnswersOther - Politics & Government9 years agoHeathrow closed just with the threat of snow but Government support this action, why?
Heathrow closed some hours before the snow fell and then it was only three inches. I think every airport in Europe was operating normally. It appears that the BAA (Spanish owned) couldn't run a party in a brewery. Some Government Minister one Justine Green jumps out of the woodwork to support them, why ? I worked at Heathrow for many years and never saw a fiasco like this.
5 AnswersCurrent Events9 years agoThe price of many basics are rising far in excess of wages but the Liberals say and do nothing, why ?
The Libs like to shout about looking after ordinary people but I hear no action on the energy prices they were promising not long ago.Seems to me they are just as bad as the other two parties when it comes to looking after the interests of the electorate. They won't get my vote again.
6 AnswersOther - Politics & Government9 years agoDoesn't it occur to Piers Morgan that the vast majority of people laugh at his 'ethical' behavior ?
His giving evidence to the Levenson enquiry was a joke constantly including every legal 'if and but' his barrister could think of.People like Morgan sailed as close to the legal wind as they could and in many cases sailed through it but now none of them have the moral courage to admit it.
5 AnswersMedia & Journalism9 years agoWhy when I hear Cameron blustering about what he'll do if the proposal by the Sarcozy/Merkel Axis doesn't suit?
Cameron it appears to me is a man of straw as far as the EU is concerned and will beat retreat if the Germans & French as much as growl at him.
3 AnswersElections9 years agoAlastair Campbell is now calling elements of the British Press putrid, does he include himself ?
Campbell who was up to his neck in the sleazy tactics of 'New Labour' and Teflon Tony is hardly in a position to complain about anything the press get up to. Sounds more to me like a case of,"pot calling kettle black" or as Shakespeare said," methinks he doth protest too much".
6 AnswersMedia & Journalism9 years agoCameron has 'full confidence' in Teresa May,didn't he have 'full confidence' in Liam Fox ?
Maybe I am missing something but when politicians say they have full confidence in one of their colleagues it usually ends up with the person in whom they had full confidence getting the sack
14 AnswersPolitics10 years agoDo you think the old song 'Nice work if you can get it' should be Bob Crow's theme song ?
Now it looks like Crow is going to do a deal to get his drivers on the Tube £50,000 plus per annum really just on persuading them to do their job is it any wonder that this country is in the mess it is ?
2 AnswersOther - Politics & Government10 years agoAs Milliband and the rest line up to admit they got it wrong does anyone care anymore ?
As The Shadow Cabinet and the main culprits like Balls,Cooper & Darling line up to profess their regret at making a few financial mistakes while in Government why is there no sign of Bungler Brown the arch villain ?
7 AnswersOther - Politics & Government10 years agoHow many people are surprised at the revelations of the secret meetings between Blair & Qaddafi ?
Now that papers captured in Libya reveal that Blair and Qaddafi had two secret meetings in Tripoli before the release of Al Meghari the alleged Pan Am bomber is anyone really surprised at what Blair was getting up to ?
1 AnswerGovernment10 years agoBlair is now calling for 'regime change' in Iran and Syria doesn't that man ever learn anything ?
Having brought about death and misery to thousands of people by his lies and those of Bush you'd think he would have learnt something but politicians seldom learn and maybe he sees even more money in it for him.
11 AnswersCurrent Events10 years agoIf Clegg disagrees with so many Tory policies why is he in a coalition with them ?
He doesn't want Blair's infamous Human Rights Act amended and now he's criticising the speed of reform. Did he join in with the Tories for his ego ?
5 AnswersGovernment10 years agoClem Attlee and his Cabinet colleagues didn't make millions when they retired so what did they do wrong ?
These old and genuine Labour Party men and women retired with a very moderate amount of money. What a difference between them and Labour Party members Blair and Mandelson and many others who have lined their pockets thanks to being in office,no wonder the Labour Party is now so discredited as a 'socialist' party.
2 AnswersLaw & Ethics10 years agoAdml.Stanhope gives his opinion about the war against Qaddafi and Cameron tells him off,why ?
It's reported today that Cameron has given a 'dressing down' to the admiral over his publishing his opinion on the sustainability of the attacks on Qaddafi.Having cut all three of our services our forces now Cameron has the cheek to criticise someone who has made an assessment based on years of experience and who has forgotten more about warfare than he (Cameron) will ever know. In addition there was no coffee and biscuits served at the meeting (its enough to make the cat laugh) as a mark of Cameron's displeasure I suppose like all politicians Cameron doesn't want to hear the truth.
3 AnswersCurrent Events10 years agoHow many current pensioners realise this Government are going to introduce a two tier pension system ?
In a few years thanks to this government all current pensioners still alive will fall behind new pensioners by a considerable amount. It's not enough their meddling with pension evaluations between RPI and CPI will ensure that people on pensions get the dirty end of the stick again. It seems from the lack of protest by those effected and the opposition parties the Tories are going to get away with it.
