do you ever use a circuit breaker to switch both hot and neutral?

using a 20a tied breaker or double breaker? or should the neutral never be switched that way?

    Double pole switches are used quite commonly, on many device. It's safe to use double-pole switches (breakers) on a circuit having a hot and a neutral.

    It is not safe to break the neutral by itself. This will allow the current to pass through the switched device on possibly shock or kill you (if you touch the neutral and earth at te same time.)

    Just last week, my treadmill stopped working suddenly. I traced the problem to a bad pole (the neutral) in the double-pole power switch of the treadmill.
