i think of we are lacking something here. Why became into there no formal custody settlement? Does your husband pay baby help? If he does he needs to bypass to courtroom. However you dont have to Adopt a child to be an important part of his life. Even if she gives up her rights she should still pay child support, while you may not need to money he is entitled to it and could provide him with savings for uni or something. Dont let your feelings control the situation remember you have to do what's best for the child.

You can apply to adopt the Child, but the Adption People will decide if you are suitable parents, with a stable home life. However, you must be a married couple.
