Thinking of purchasing a computerized embroidery machine.?
I am a life long sewer, recently addicted to quilting. I currently own a Bernina 830 (the old one) passed down from my Mum over 25 years ago. I love this machine, but think it's time to upgrade, and perhaps a new embroidery machine could increase my creativity. :) I know that Janome, Husqvarna, Singer, and Bernina all offer embroidery machines, and perhaps others that I have not heard of. I'd love to hear the opinions of those who have and use an embroidery machine. Please comment on the features you love, and those you don't. What is your opinion of your brand?
Thank-you for your time.

do not go with brother or singer.
I have a 17 year old Viking Husqvarna embroidery/sewing machine. It still works like a dream. I have not had one problem with this machine.
I would highly recommend buying at a store where you can take lessons on how to use the machine. I went to sewing conventions and took several classes on machine embroidery-including stabilizers and thread. It was a huge help. I also took a series of lessons from the sewing machine store where I bought my machine. they were very helpful when I would call up with just a question or two with a problem I would run into. when I was shopping for the machine, a sewing machine dealer will allow you to sit down and demo machines before you buy
