science -fiction story any help?

Start by thinking of what junk genes might be able to do. For example, scientists might create junk genes to give people blue skin, and some people might get gene therapy to turn themselves blue and form a cult. Or maybe the government starts breeding blue-skinned people as a solider class or a slave class.

Actually, junk DNA is a term used for sequences of DNA that either aren't involved in coding proteins or else we don't know what their coding functions are. So you could write about someone mucking around with junk gene sequences to see what they'd get - and getting monsters or superheroes or duck-people, whatever.

Is the nature of the competition to see who can get someone else to write the best story for them?

you could use the idea of genetic engineering as a part of your story, but i'm not writing for you; i'm just suggesting a possible starting point that you can base/expand the story off of.
