Does everyone believe all the polls that are produced by the main stream media?
The other day, I received a robo-call that asked which Presidential candidate I supported. The automated voice asked me to press one for Romney, press two for Gingrich, press three for Santorum, or press four for "other".
Do most Americans believe all the polls we are fed by the media?

Not a chance. Just like the unemployment numbers. Figures lie and liars figure.

Mainstream media interior the US has one schedule: "save my rewarding activity as a media govt." to do this, an govt would desire to no longer enable thoughts that could stimulate high priced regulation suits or spurn latest and destiny wealthy company advertisers. The vendors are suits in Wall highway who in basic terms care approximately this quarter's earnings. The schedule has no longer something to do with reality or the welfare of maximum individuals. You hear approximately thoughts and provides that are on no account run because of this. Monsanto has taken courtroom situations to a sparkling height in conserving a number of their very risky products. an elementary occasion is an advert that NBC refused to run. circulate to the PETA information superhighway web site and seek for the Thanksgiving Dinner turkey advert. a toddler provides a tender prayer appropriate to the treatment of turkeys. it would be clever, however the networks do no longer want to harm their final analysis. PBS has fallen into the comparable catch. it fairly is all approximately sales and being financially achievable.

No, because they are not a representative sampling of the electorate. A poll based on a fraction of the voting population is based on a nanosecond of time and doesn't hold water. I keep reading poll results but wonder why I am never called. Depending on the desired outcome, I suspect only part of the country is polled to produce the results desired.

No, I just think the Republicans are at work and mostly liberals answer the phones at home who don't work.
Just my opinion, because there was masses of people against Obama when liberal congress lost by a landslide not too long ago. I have feeling even more will vote against Obama.
Remember Pelosi- I know we will win congress again, I just know. LOST BIG TIME! She didn't know crap!

I'm surprised you waited that long before hanging up on the robocall. I would be more interested in hearing about the statistic of what percent of calls from a phone survey hang up on the survey.

There is nothing there to "believe" or "not believe".....a poll is simply a sample. Can they be faked? Of course...that's why you should only trust polls that you have evidence you can trust!
For instance, WE have no way at all to tell whether you really received a "Robo-call" if if you just made that up!
MOST Americans are perfectly capable of thinking for themselves, though there are certainly a small minority who are utterly convinced they are "smarter than everybody else", as your question so clearly illustrates...

I certainly don't. When did Mr. or Mrs. "Other" enter the race? I don't remember hearing or reading about the candidacy of this "Other" person.

Most do but that's only because they are ignorant and easily led.
-I don't. I've seen far too much manipulation.
