The earlier enfields (1947 to 1990) were an unweildy, leaky and unreliable lot. Just because they had the biggest displacement (350cc) and a huge metallic crankcase coupled with a legendary "dhup dhup" sound, many non-riders started weaving fantasies in their mind.

Yes it is a capable bike but it was made for a different time and age. Unfortunately that age and time is long past. If you disagree you will also come to a similar conclusion but after a lot of expense and heartburn. The choice is yours.

You could try a Constellation or an Interceptor.

You'd be better off going for a Triumph Bonneville,Norton 600,BSA A10.

Noise doesn't equal speed.You can get different types of exhaust for the bikes.If you want noise,you need 'straight through' pipes,which have no baffles.
