How to sue Honda Corp. since 2011 Accord only gets 21 mpg?
My girlfriends Accord only gets 21 mpg on the highway. I saw a lady on television that sued Honda because her car didn't get close to the advertised gas mileage. The dealership said it's normal to get 21 mpg and they would not refund her money and take back the car. My girlfriend walked into the dealership and told the manager in front of customers, "Honda's suck!" The Honda customer service said she had to work with the dealership to resolve it and they refused to get involved. Where and how do you sue Honda?
The salesperson said it gets "Real World" 31-32 mpg on the highway when she looked at it. That is why she bought it. She drove it across the country 3 times and 21 mpg is what she always gets and that is with no a/c on.

These are the actual MPG ratings of the 2011 Accord for each model: http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/bymodel/2011_Honda_...
She can't sue Honda and win because your girlfriend has a heavy foot that's costing her a couple miles less than actual ratings. She puts her foot down on the gas pedal and that engine is going to do exactly what it's told, suck in more air and fuel. And it's not just acceleration that costs fuel, if she's out there cruising at 85+mph on some of those empty cross-country highways it's going to take more fuel as well. If she really has driven across the country 3 times that's a lot of miles, has she even checked her tire pressure at least once? She needs to think about what she's doing that may be causing the fuel issue.
Honda should refuse to get involved if she goes in yelling "Honda's suck!" in front of everyone and resorting straight to seeking out a lawsuit instead of sitting down and thinking first about what role her driving habits have in the vehicles MPG.

cross country is 3k miles one way, you say she has done it 3 times, how often is she changing her oil? and 21 mpg is about average if you have a heavy foot, and most younger folks have a heavy foot, and I think it is safe to assume she is young based on the "honda sucks" part, immaturity will get you no where in a service department

Talk to a lawyer because small claims court (do it yourself) will not take cases that expensive. I would contact the woman that sued Honda and won. There may be a class action lawsuit after her Hybrid didn't get the posted miles per gallon. I know many people that have Honda's and they do not get close to the actual miles per gallon, so she may be better off selling it.

There's something seriously wrong with the vehicle if it only gets 21mpg. That's why they have warranties.
Anybody idiotic enough to walk into customer service yelling like that is going to have problems, with service and the rest of her life.
